T-Mobile Steps Up The War Against Verizon

Screenshot 2015-05-05 at 18.12.53

T-Mobile has today launched a new attack on Verizon under the tagline of “Never Settle For Verizon” complete with eight new adverts and risk free trials for their customers. This is in retaliation to the new campaign from Verizon sharing the same name as One Plus’s “Never Settle”.

Following the latest “Never Settle” advert campaign from Verizon, T-mobile has surprisingly agreed, you shouldn’t settle … For Verizon and to reinforce this point they have launched no less than eight new adverts covering all the areas you would expect to find grievances. T-Mobile claims that Verizon has been forcing their customers to settle for a sub par experience, with an incredible list of points against the rival. It is clear that on features alone, T-Mobile is certainly the better of the two rivals. The accusations claimed include:

  •   Paying too much
  •   A slower LTE network
  •   Limited data
  •   Two-year service contracts
  •   Overages and bill shock
  •   Waiting to upgrade their phones
  •   Being overcharged overseas
  •   Having unused data repossessed every month
  •   Being trapped by ETFs
  •   Music streaming eating up their data
  •   Limited Wi-Fi calling
  •   No guarantee that plan prices won’t go up unexpectedly
  •   Hidden fees

To top it all off, they are also offering Verizon customers risk free trails on the network at no cost. Starting on May 13th, trial customers can port their number to a new T-Mobile smartphone and keep their old phone. Afterwards if they have enjoyed their experience T-Mobile will pay off any early termination fees for up to $650 when they hand in their old device. If however they have not enjoyed the service they can return the handset to T-Mobile and will have their reactivation fees and service costs paid for them.

John Legere CEO of T-Mobile has stated that
“Last week, I said we would hit right back at Verizon — I meant it, T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network is the nation’s fastest. Not faster for the price … just faster, period. With T-Mobile, you don’t have to settle for trickery, gimmicks and carrier BS the way you do with Verizon.  I’m so confident in our kick-ass network experience that we’re footing the bill so Verizon customers can give T-Mobile a try.”

Of course, this is not the first time John Legere has called the opposition out on poor service and it’s almost a certainty that this will not be the last. But for now we can be glad that the competition is clearly doing good for the business.

Do you agree with these new adverts, should Verizon ? Leave a comment below!
