It seems like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC is quite the success for the company, and today we get some details as to how successful it has been. We’re told that the Snapdragon 410 is used in more than 550 different mobile devices, from over 60 different OEMs and that the company has shipped more than 200 million units. Does this partially redeem the 810?

Qualcomm Details the Specs of the Snapdragon 430 and 617 SoCs

Along with Quick Charge 3.0, Qualcomm has also announced a couple new chips that will join their mid-range lineup. These chips come with some high-end features like the Snapdragon 430 coming with the Adreno 505 GPU. We also see the Snapdragon 617 equipped with an X8 LTE modem with Cat 7 speeds, along with the dual-ISPs to support image quality of up to 21MP.

5.5″ Metal Huawei Honor 7 Plus is Leaked

Prolific mobile leakster Steve Hemmerstoffer has just revealed some information about an upcoming device from Huawei, the Honor 7 Plus. The device is likely to be a 5.5″ FHD smartphone with dimensions of 151.4 x 76.3 x 7.9mm. In his tweet we also get a link to a YouTube video showing us the current render of what is to be expected.

Qualcomm Announces Quick Charge 3.0

Qualcomm Quick Charge

Quick Charge 3.0 is the next generation quick charge technology from Qualcomm and it is the first of its kind to use what Qualcomm is calling ‘Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage’. The company says that Quick Charge 3.0 is up to 38% more efficient than its predecessor, charges twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and reduces power dissipation by up to 45%.

Google Announces the Inaugural Android Dev Summit

Today on the Android Developers Google+ page we saw the announcement of the first ever Android Dev Summit. This event is said to take place in Mountain View California on November 23rd and 24th. During this event we are told to expect ‘deep technical sessions’ with the Android engineering team as well as a place to network with them.

Double Labs is responsible for the popular Android application Echo Notification Lockscreen. This acquisition marks the second (Microsoft previously acquired Next Lock Screen) in a series of lockscreen application acquisitions. It’s clear that Microsoft is hungry to gather up some of the best Android application developers under their umbrella but we have to wonder if they are more interested in the technology or the talent.

Russian Watchdog Rules Against Google For Pre-Loading Gapps

Earlier this year, Russian search provider Yandex filed a complaint against Google and claimed they were illegally requiring Android OEMs to include both Google applications and services with the Google Play Store. The Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service has ruled against Google and said they will be fined for it. They are also issuing a warning and expect additional penalties if Google doesn’t change their requirements.
