New Nexus Pre-Orders Begin In India, Goodies With Nexus 5X

The new Nexus, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P have arrived in India, with pre-orders for the device going live. The Nexus 5X is available for pre-order from Amazon India for Rs. 31,990 ($490) with goodies such as  Amazon Gift Cards worth Rs. 5,000, cashback from app, a free bluetooth headset along with a free screen replacement. The Nexus 6P pre-orders begin tonight from Flipkart for Rs. 39,999 ($615). Both the phones will also be available offline at select stores.

Apktool v2.0.2 Released With Android Marshmallow Support

Connor Tumbleson aka XDA Senior Member iBotPeaches has released an update to the ever popular Apktool, which now supports Android 6.0 Marshmallow API 23, and it also includes updated v2.0.8 of the smali/baksmali project.

You can find the official update blog post here along with a XDA post on the update. Download links for the latest version can be found there as well, including instructions for migration.

Samsung has just been awarded the ‘Best in Product Carbon Footprint’ Award by Carbon Trust for their Galaxy S smartphones. This is a pretty big deal as Carbon Trust has been certifying products for the last 4 years and this is the first time a consumer electronics devices has won. Samsung has been able to make substantial reductions in carbon emissions ever since the Galaxy S2.

LG Applies For 'G Pay' Trademark in the US and South Korea

LG Electronics has just filed for a new trademark in the United States as well as South Korea. The trademark is for the term ‘G Pay’ and it reaffirms the notion that the South Korean electronics maker is planning on releasing a competitor to Samsung’s mobile payments service. There aren’t any news about when this could launch, just that LG is developing it.
