Sony Plans an OTA Update to Resolve Xperia Z5 Touchscreen Issues

Sony has acknowledged that a “limited number” of white Xperia Z5 Compact customers are having trouble with the touchscreen of their device. It was previously speculated that this was from heat generation but Sony believes a software fix will help to iron things out. A community manager just announced an update is scheduled to fix this and it should be available around October 26th.

Nextbit Robin Goes Up for Preorder, Priced at $399

Nextbit announced its cloud-focused smartphone, the Robin, on Kickstarter recently, and after a strong campaign, the startup has begun accepting pre-orders for the device. Priced at $399, the handset is available in mint and midnight color options, and is expected to begin shipping by February next year.

Sony to Open its First Smartphone Factory in 20 Years

Sony’s new factory in Thailand will be the first one the company has built since they constructed the one they have in Beijing in 1995. The new smartphone plant will handle chip mounting all the way through to the assembly of the device.
