Latest Update to BBM Lets You Search, Edit and Retract Messages

BlackBerry just released a new update that brings some bug fixes, performance enhancements and some much wanted features to the messaging application. You can now search through your chats, contacts, groups & channels, delete messages in your chat on your device, send broadcast messages to categories of contacts, request a contact’s location, and you can retract pictures or messages in a single-person, multi-person and group chat.

It seems like everyone wants to launch their own mobile payments service and Walmart is the latest to announce theirs. The company has yet to even start accepting Android Pay, or even Apple Pay for that matter, and today’s announcement might be why. The feature is now embedded within the Walmart mobile application and it uses a QR code to process instead of NFC.

In a recent interview with Verizon Executive VP Marni Walden, we are told that Verizon is working on a way for partners to “sponsor” all or a portion of the data used by a customer. This is reminiscent of toll-free calling for telephones, so Verizon feels it should fit in very nicely with mobile data usage as well.

Cortana to Come Preloaded On Cyanogen OS 12.1.1 on OnePlus One

At the official announcement post for Cortana’s availability on iOS and Android, Microsoft also announced that future versions of Cyanogen OS will feature deep integration of Cortana. Along with this, it is now announced that Cortana will come along as part of the Cyanogen OS 12.1.1 OTA update for users of the OnePlus One in the USA, in December.

This feature was unavailable for Android until now. Melissa Luu-Van from Facebook has announced that the Security Checkup tool will now makes it way to the most popular mobile OS. One of the most successful Samsung lineup is the “A” series. A new incarnation of Samsung Galaxy A8 for Japan will sport a powerful Exynos 5433. This SoC was is in use in the Galaxy Note 4 which is still a quite decent device. An interesting decision made by Samsung nevertheless.
