[Q] Performance/battery life on stock 6.0.1? Currently on 4.4.2 [Wifi]

Hello

I am currently on stock rooted rom on 4.4.2. I never bothered updating since it served my purposes of watching movies.

I need to gift my nexus to someone I know, so wanted to update and unroot before giving. Would anyone please tell me how the performance and battery life is on 6.0.1 stock (will be used unrooted most likely)? I have the Wifi 2013 nexus 7

I understand it may be too obvious of an answer butI searched the thread but could not find an answer. Been away from xda for a long time. Good to be back! :)

[Q] Which is technically better: AOSP or image-based ROMs?

The reason I ask is because image-based ROMs seem to be trouble-free, even if you flash Cataclysm mod over it to get some customization w/o using Xposed.

I would imagine that image-based ROMs would be better for the device, since they are build specifically for the device. As opposed to AOSP ROMs which are built from source, then customized to work with the device.

The reason I ask is because I keep bouncing between TuPac's stripped-down image-based ROM and PureNexus.

Any thoughts around this?

SM-G930FD on Rogers network

Hey,

So I purchased the SM-930F on ebay, I ended up with the FD model. So first question there, I couldn't see any difference between the F and FD in the specs I looked up other than the hardware allowing an additional SIM. Is there any reason why I should be concerned about an FD over an F?

Second question; I checked the frequencies before I purchased and I should get LTE on the rogers network however I only get 3g and HSDPA+ or 4g occasionally but rarely. Why am I not getting LTE?

How to copy files from internal memory from fastboot/recovery?

Hi, I boot my phone normally, but I can go into fastboot and recovery (stock recovery). Is there any way I can copy files from the phone's internal memory so I can wipe it? I've tried connecting a usb cable in fastboot and recovery, but my pc doesn't recognize any device connected.
Please help me!

vodafone smart tab 3g is bricked

I tried to flash different custom recoveries on a Vodafone Smart Tab 3G, but none of them seemed to work. Now the tablet does not boot in any boot mode. When I try to enter recovery mode, the device restarts after a few seconds, when I try fastboot, on the screen appears FASTBOOT mode... and it get stuck there, and when I try normal boot, the screen goes black, but it is still powered on, and it remains so until you turn it off. I tried also to connect to my tablet trough adb and fastboot, but no device is listed in the console. I have also installed the usb drivers and adb universal drivers, so my device should be listed in the console. However, when I try to enter fastboot, a new device appears in Device Manager as Android. I ask you if I could unbrick my tablet (flash a new recovery, then a new rom), or if it is dead forever.

D802 screen not showing anything

Hello, I have D802 16gb phone and just started acting very wierd.... Firstly I do not drop it or drop to water or so ever, I protecting my phones. So, one day screen just go black, like went to sleep but blacklight working I can see, but nothing showing up, when touching I can hear touch sounds its like screen started not working or disconnected something. After a little time its started show again but after a few minutes of useage again screen went black, again backlight was working... So done hardreset, then tried unbricking it with flash tools and ksz files. But even when I power up phone, sometimes I can see LG logo, sometimes I cant, it booted after setup and I can hear with beeps of touch thats it gives me first time setup... I have another LG G2, so I know where to press, but nothing appears, just black screen with backlight... any solutions? I can try dissasemble phone if anyone can lead me through what to look for :/

TWRP not loading after flashing Oxygen OS 3.0

I'm having issues with my recovery after flashing the OOS 3.0 to the phone. My phone is working but when i boot into recovery, it stays on the page saying 1+ powered by android. Anyone else have this issue, or any ways to fix it.
I also tried re-flashing twrp, but i get "FAILED (Remote: dtb not found)" when i try to boot the recovery image.
