Updating SM-G900A to latest

My girlfriend's SM-G900A is sitting on 4.4.2, I think it's supposed to be on 5.1.1 or somewhere near so from what I've read, but can't seem to find a definitive answer on how to get it done. The regular software update method results in it saying "checking AT&T server for update" (which she does have a sub-carrier, GoSmart) and it then says fully up to date. Kies, which I installed on my home PC, also says the same. Is there a way to get this up to at least Lollipop? How is that done?

Cannot flash firmware.

Hello my friends, hope You can help me.

My friend recently came to me with her smartphone - SM-G531F
She said to me this story: during using tinder/snapchat (or some similar sh**) phone freezed. After put-out-in battery phone came up with this:
ggg

And here is the thing. I tried to flash it with odin but no success - no pit partition(3.07 and this new one), I tried to flash it with kies but smarphone acts strange (keep connecting and disconnecting, never connected succesfully).
All tried to do on win8.1 and 10.

Am I missing something? I know the basics, but I'm more familiar with LG and Sony devices.
I'll be happy if someone can give me hand :) Thanks!

Speaker performance and battery life in Android 6.0 beta

So I've heard a lot of people complain about the speaker loudness and the battery life becoming worse after the Lollipop update. Does the Marshmallow update improve the speakers and battery life? Also how well does the phone perform compared to Lollipop and Kitkat? Also for the best battery life and performance should I stick with Kitkat, go back to lollipop (I downgraded using flashtool) or wait until marshmallow is released and update to that?

Some options are hidden

Hello everybody
i'v just bought the Oneplus 2 and received it today, i had the oneplus one before then i changed to oneplus 2, i noticed there are some important options hidden in the settings that are:

-Status bar
-Notification bar manager
-Themes (i can't even install themes from play store)
-Screen colors
-ring layouts and settings (in buttons option)
-also can't customize the " on screen " buttons..

i had these options hidden in my previous OPO but i solved it by going to " about phone " then enabled " advanced mode ", but i can't find this option on the OPT :(
is there any solution for this issue? i'd be so much thankful...
i'm using the oxygen version 2.2.1 and my android version is 5.1.1

Thanks all!

my 47a upgrade experience

about a week ago, i finally upgraded to 47a. previously, i was running jasmine 4.0 + skydragon kernel. that setup worked great for a long time, but then issues started to pop up. rather than redo the install, i decided to upgrade to the 47a rom provided by @xdabbeb. i wanted a clean, fresh install so i followed all the instructions on this forum to revert to 10b, root, and then install 47a. here are some of the things i learned along the way and after a week of use. my experience may be different from others.
  • while going through the phone setup after reverting to 10b, i skipped any email account(google or other) setup. since i was going back to 10b for the sole purpose of gaining root and installing twrp in order to be able to flash 47a, doing any account wasn't necessary. i rooted with stump. ioroot should work also. the downside to this was that i couldn't download flashify or twrp manager from the play store to use to flash twrp. since i didn't have the apks for those apps, my only option for flashing twrp was via adb as described here.
  • after flashing the 35b bootstack in recovery, i rebooted back into recovery as suggested by @mopartonyg here. after that, i flashed the 47a rom, debloat scripts, and hotspot mod. some have had success flashing everything all at once, but when i did that, i didn't have root. i don't think it hurts to reboot into recovery after flashing the bootstack and it adds only about 30 seconds to the upgrade process.
  • i implemented the external sd card fix described by @Robshr here. there's also an app that will make the same changes.
  • even with the external sd card fix, titanium backup wouldn't write to my external sd card. i had 2 options to get around this: 1) backup to internal storage and then copy to the external sd or 2) use the DocumentProvider storage option in titanium backup to get it to write to the external sd card. i opted for #1. one time i tried DocumentProvider storage and i got a message saying that titanium backup was moving the backups and somehow they got corrupted.
  • even with the new doze feature, my battery was draining quickly. greenify put a stop to that.
  • overall performance has been good. gaming performance isn't as good as what i had with jasmine 4.0 + skydragon kernel. the os still needs some tuning. i have a thread about it here.
  • i use google hangouts for text messaging and it had problems downloading mms messages. it turned out that pushbullet's sms sync was the problem. disabling this allowed me to receive mms messages again, but i didn't have this problem with jasmine 4.0.
i hope this is helpful. again, my experience may be different from what others have seen.

Canadian Edge Users

Can anyone with SM-G925W8 confirm if putting twrp enables flashing custom roms safely? I just bought this device and I don't want to brick it in case.
