[Q] Can re-soaking fix water damage?

I know it seems like a stupid question but I've got nothing to loose at the moment so I'll explain my situation.

About 3 months ago I took my Xperia Z1 for a swim in the pool to see how the camera performed underwater. The screen started to go black when I took it out and then it completely shut off. I took it inside and turned it on again. It lasted a minute before shutting off so I plugged it in to the charger and got the boot logo before shutting off again with nothing: Screen was off, no led, no vibrations, nothing.
I opened the flaps and they were still white and still are today and there was no moisture or anything. I tried plugging the phone in a few days ago to see if it still works and the led turned on and it just stays like that with no action. Left it for a few hours but still nothing.

I don't really need this phone anymore because I have a Z5 now but a second handset is always nice to have. The pool water would have had a very small amount of salt in it and I think that might be causing issues. Either that or there is still water in there (unlikely) or parts have rusted or even the phone might have got shocked when I plugged it in to charge. What I was thinking was opening the ports and soaking it in water for a minute or less and then taking it out and putting it in a bag of dry rice to drain the water out of it. I'm not sure if it will work but I haven't got anything to loose so I was wondering if it is even worth giving a shot or even some tips would be nice.

Water Damaged G4 Return

OK, long story short, I was with friends in a tent and got pissed. When I woke up my phone was in a dry spot however out of charge. I put it in charging it went on however after few min turned off (think it had a bath in beer - no reference to swimming pools by Kendrick ;) ). I put it in rice but it hasn't changed at all. I got it from a 3rd party Chinese site so they don't have warranty with LG (but have their own 1 year one) , the liquid indicators on the battery and above the sim are still white. They are paying for shipping so should I open it and try to clean off residue? It says no tempering in the terms and conditions so... Also its rooted but since it doesn't turn on I doubt it matters. What should I do.

Tried to replace I9000 usb connector, but failed

So I've ended up destroying (the charging circuit) my I9000 by removing the usb connector the wrong way. I've followed this guide
but I was to impatient with heating up the usb connector., Because of that the copper pads came along with the pins of the usb connector.

So now my question. Is it still possible to make the charging circuit work?

I've found these two images. Source 1 and Source 2. I don't know if the images are right, can anybody confirm this?
But if I run wires from the pins of the usb connector to the components in the image would it make the charging system work again?

Or are there any other smart solutions to fix this issue?

Is samsung allowed to do this?

I had 2 small scratches/cracks on my s7 edge screen. I took it to a samsung affiliate repairshop. They said they wanted 4300 nok (520 us dollars) to change my screen. I said ok.

Then right before they finish they say its rooted and they want 7700 nok (927 us dollars) to change the screen!

What kind of schhhity rule is this? What does root has to do with price of component repair?

Ive attached the messages between me and the repairshop here. Its in scandinavian.

I live in Norway.

Z5C won't boot after kernel & recovery flash

Hi guys,

Just unlocked my bootloader and began the root process.

I followed part of this guide but without backing up my DRM keys. http://ift.tt/22GU8cD

I flashed my kernel and the recovery O.K.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
flashboot flash boot boot.img

I've tried two versions of TWRP and two different versions of the kernel AndroPlus.

When performing fastboot reboot after flashing both files my phones LED blinks RED once and then does nothing.

Dramatic and scary. What can I do to fix this? When trying to boot without the cable in my phone just vibrates once and does nothing. Screen doesn't light up at all. I'm so worried.
