Buttons don't work... help

well,

got a 9505 in a soft brick mode from a friend to fix, flashed a DBT NB8 rom and got it to boot.

BUT!!! non of the buttons work (power, volume, home, menu, return)

flashed custom rom to see if it fixes the issue... it doesn't



the phone worked before it got soft brick

and i can start the phone so power should work... but it doesn't in the rom

any ideas?

[Q] Overzealous auto-brightness

I have auto-brightness turned on for my phone, but I'm seriously considering turning it if this can't be resolved.



The auto-brightness has been very annoying over the past few weeks. If I move my phone just a little bit it may go from nice and bright to incredibly dim and almost useless (during the day). It's overreacting, basically. I understand that there's an ambient light sensor (obviously) and that if I move that into a shadowed area it will adjust accordingly, but if I'm sitting at my desk in the middle of the day with my lights on and I lean back with the phone in hand, for some reason it thinks I'm now in darkness and makes the screen incredibly dim, though the ambient light in the room has not changed and I can't fathom the sensor actually picking up much of a difference.



Are there any mods to tweak this or anything I can do? I'm on stock/rooted 5.1, so no Xposed modules.

Moto E 2015 has no compass

I use my phone for chart plotting on my boat and jet-ski, and after getting Navionics up and running for this weekend found out the E doesn't have a compass in it. Ugh. Going to see how this flies over the weekend on the boat, but probably going to have to have a separate device in the future. Gosh I wish case manufacturers would get their crap together and make a decent waterproof case for some form of Android phone that I can RAM mount to my consoles. If only Lifeproof made something for Android that wasn't a Galaxy.

[ROM] [N910PVPU1BOB7] [100% Stock, Rooted, Odexed/ART, No KNOX/Itson] [3/20/2015]

As requested, I bring to you a completely stock build of Lollipop (N910PVPU1BOB7). Built from the official samsung tar. The rom will self root upon flash and it has init.d/busybox support. Knox and Sprint Itson has been removed completely. All samsung "bloat" apps will install upon first boot just like it does on a new phone. Also included is the BOB7 modem and HLOS patch to ensure you have the latest modem with this rom.



Important Note: Before flashing ANY Lollipop ROM. including this one, you MUST first have done one of the following: Taken the Lollipop ota update OR odin flashed the stock N910PVPU1BOB7_N910PSPT1BOB7_SPR rom tar. If you are still on KK based rom (including any KK AOSP/CM based roms) then you MUST first update to Lollipop by one of the two methods I mentioned BEFORE flashing this ROM.



As of right now the rom is available only to the first 10 people who can test. Although I have no reason to believe there would be any issues, I want to make sure it's 100% before allowing public access. This is how I choose to release roms for obvious reasons in order to prevent a bad experience for users. I need testers who can test bluetooth, wifi, wifi-calling, fingerprint features, private mode, screen mirroring, nfc, etc. My main focus is to test the features I just listed. Those are things that I don't use. You MUST register and follow me on AFH before you can access my restricted files. So do that first and pm me if you can test. As soon as the testers all concur that the rom has no issues, the rom will go public. So please be patient and I will let you all know as soon as I feel it's ready for public use... which I honestly feel it is. I expect public release within the next couple of days.



flashing anything on your device is done at your own risk. There is no way myself or any other developer can guarantee that flashing this ROM or any other file will not brick your device or otherwise cause some other type of damage. This is just a standard warning. I am not responsible for anything that you do to your device.
