Porting kitkat from similar device

I own Xolo A500s.It has JB as its OS.They have realeased kitkat update for similar device(i.e having same cpu but diff screen or camera),a500 club,a500 lite.

I want to port kitkat from this to mine device,I tried their update.zip but mine boots to white screen after .I think I need to modify boot.im but what to modify and how that I don't know.I think I should change the driver of screen and bluetooth but where to change? Please help me with this.

[Q] Quick info about rooting/unlocking bootloader/etc.

Just a quick question here since I don't see a guide anywhere. My brother is getting an M8 from Verizon in several weeks (he's getting a new contract and the M8 looks like the best free/cheap phone available). So I can assist him, what is the current status on unlocking the bootloader and rooting? Looks like it will ship with Lollipop according to Verizon's site.



I don't need detailed guides on doing everything (I'm familiar with the concepts; I have a Nexus 5 myself), but just a quick "Bootloader can't be unlocked, so no root" or whatever the case is would be greatly appreciated.

Multi-dpi TW app zips for lollipop

I saw a similar Q&A thread post but I don't think the member was looking for the same things as I am. Are there any available touch wiz lollipop multi dpi apps. ? Specifically the dialer/contact, and camera/gallery all get out of proportion at anything other than the stock 480 dpi. I would love to drop down to 420 dpi or lower without having to use 3rd party apps.

[Q] S2 starts shutting down after flashing CM 11

Hello everyone and thanks for the great site/forum!



So I finally rooted my good old Samsung Galaxy S2 and also flashed CM 11 Nightly (Kit Kat) on it. And I did the battery calibration as well.



The problem is that after I did this the phone was ok for about a week but then started to shut down without a reason all by itself. If it's connected to a charger it's fine but without it the problem occurs.



I've tried factory reset and clearing both caches. Didn't help.



I've read about the issue and it seems that this is nothing new with Android phones. But I haven't had this problem at all before I flashed a new ROM to my phone. Is there anything you think I should try? Are there any ROM's that are more stable than CM 11?
