We’re starting to see reports from forum members about Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA updates hitting the Nexus 6. There’s a reference thread in the Nexus 6 forum where community members are coming together to post the OTA link for their specific build. Groupon is holding a little sale right now on some first generation Chromecast devices right now. It will only cost you $20 each as they are manufacturer-refurbished units. Orders ship within 2 days, are normally delivered within 12 and each one comes with a 90-day warranty directly from Google. As with most sales on Groupon, this batch will only be available for a limited time.
Niantic Labs was spun off from Google back in August and now the team has just announced that they are receiving $30 million from a round of investors. $20 million of this is coming from Google, The Pokémon Company Group and Nintendo and Niantic says they plan to use it for expanding its platform for both Ingress and the highly anticipated launch of Pokémon GO.
Just like last year with LG’s Lollipop release, the company has issued a press release and claiming the title of the “World’s First” rollout of the latest Android update. LG G4 customers who live in Poland are going to receive Android 6.0 “beginning next week” with other markets like Europe, Asia and the Americas following behind them.
We’ve all gone through a bootloop or been stuck at a boot animation at some point, waiting for that fresh new ROM to load only to decide it’s not happening after 30 minutes. XDA Recognized Developer Ziyan has posted experimental Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Galaxy Nexus. This build is based off pure AOSP, and works surprisingly well. Known issues on the rom include crashes during video recording and NFC not working.
