Amazon Music gets X-Ray features for more insightful listening

Why just listen to your music when you can also fully engage with it? Amazon on Friday announced it’s bringing its popular X-Ray feature to its music streaming service, giving users a behind the scenes look their favorite songs.

Amazon said (via Engadget) X-Ray will “offer a behind the scenes look at song information, artists, and albums with access to everything from fun trivia to song credits, related content, and more.” Amazon Music’s latest feature is a nice replacement for the liner notes you’d get with CDs.

X-Ray has become a popular feature in on Kindle and Prime Video, the latter of which will display relevant information about onscreen cast members. X-Ray is a fun way to learn about the content you’re consuming, creating a deeper appreciation and understanding between art and audience.

From what we can tell, X-Ray on Amazon Music won’t be forced upon users. When X-Ray information is available in a song, you’ll see an “X-Ray” button. When press, relevant information and fun facts will be displayed. Currently, X-Ray works with some of the most popular songs in the U.S. and UK, and will continue to expand in the future.

For those who like a bit of trivia and like to know the “who, what and when” of media, Amazon Music’s X-Ray feature is a nice addition to the platform. If you’re curious to try it out, Amazon Music offers a free tier (with ads) on Android. You should starting seeing X-Ray information beginning today.

Instead of boring word lists, Babbel asks you to play simple picture quizzes and join simulated conversations. The vocabulary you learn is all relevant to the real world, and the app uses speech recognition technology to coach your accent.

Xbox Series X and Series S Restocks: When, where, and how to purchase Microsoft’s new game consoles

It’s time for a new gaming console generation, so you know what that means… time to hopelessly try to get a new console! Like most new generational launches, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S is difficult to find, and many are left waiting for seconds-long Xbox Series X and S restocks. It’s a frustrating situation for sure, and while we can’t offer you a surefire way to get an Xbox Series X or Series S, we can help by gathering everything you need to know in one place. Check out the below and happy hunting!

By the way, we also have a restock guide for the PlayStation 5!

When and where will the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S be restocked?

While we believe the information below is accurate, it’s important to note that sometimes restocks don’t happen as planned. Restocks may go up late, websites may break, or retailers may just change their minds. This information is to help you plan as much as possible for possible restocks.

Stock for the new Xbox series of systems seems to be doing a bit better than the PlayStation 5, but it’s still difficult to grab one. However, with Black Friday coming up soon, some retailers are stating they’ll have limited restocks. Best Buy, for example, said they would have the Xbox Series X|S consoles in on Sunday, November 22, but unfortunately didn’t give a time for the restock. Walmart, on the other hand, promises a restock on Wednesday, November 25 at 7 PM EST. If the latest restock from them is any indicator, it’ll run out really, really quick.

Microsoft generally also sells their consoles directly, but they appear to be out of stock now, with only a “find a retailer” option available.

As for Amazon? In the US, Amazon likes to drop stock randomly and without warning. Appreciate it, Amazon.

General advice for restocks

Trying to get your hands on something with limited stock is really, really stressful. Make sure to give yourself the best chance you can by following the advice below!

  • Make sure you have an account at the store, and all personal information is updated. Restocks of popular items like the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S put huge strains on websites. On top of that, when it comes to items like these, retailers will only allow you to hold it in your cart for a few minutes. Don’t waste your chance trying to update your address or payment information!
  • Start refreshing the page early. Often, retailers won’t put stock up at EXACTLY the moment they say. It may be a few minutes early or late. Get to the store page of the item you want before the restock time. You might get lucky!
  • Use Ctrl+F5, not just F5. This gives you a hard refresh, that doesn’t pull store information from the cache. So, you won’t get outdated information and will be able to see the “Buy” button as soon as possible!
  • It’s usually better to be on the computer, rather than your phone. While that is not always the case, mobile websites aren’t always optimized for fast refreshing. Or optimized for mobile viewing at all, sometimes. However, sometimes you can have better luck on a mobile app than a browser site. It’s not very often, though, so it’s best to start trying with your computer browser, first.

PlayStation 5 Restocks: When, where, and how to get your hands on Sony’s new game console

The PlayStation 5 has, in short, been a nightmare to actually get your hands on, so far. With the limited pre-order stock, site outages, and random seconds-long PlayStation 5 restocks, consumers are being left frustrated and without a (massive) new console to adorn their entertainment center. It’s a frustrating situation for sure, and while we can’t offer you a surefire way to get a PlayStation 5, we can help by gathering everything you need to know in one place. Check out below and happy hunting!

By the way, we also have a restock guide for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S!

When and where will the PlayStation 5 be restocked?

While we believe the information below is accurate, it’s important to note that sometimes restocks don’t happen as planned. Restocks may go up late, websites may break, or retailers may just change their minds. This information is to help you plan as much as possible for possible restocks.

Things might look a bit rough, but there is hope for some PlayStation 5 restocks! Rumors abound that many retailers will restock at or around Black Friday, though not all of them are confirmed yet. It makes sense, though — it is the biggest shopping day of the year, and retailers need some good doorbuster deals. What’s a better deal than just… having a hot new console in stock?

Gamestop has confirmed that it will have Black Friday stock, but this stock will only be available in stores on Black Friday itself. Walmart will also have online-only PlayStation 5 restocks on Wednesday, November 25, at 7 PM Eastern. Other than that, Best Buy promises stock will be available throughout the holiday season but didn’t offer any definitive dates or times. There is a rumor of some stock going live on Sunday, November 22, but no time was announced. Best Buy states PlayStation 5s will only be online until the new year, though, so don’t expect to walk into a store and be able to pick one up!

PlayStation Direct is doing something a little different with their PlayStation 5 restocks. They allow you to enter a queue daily, giving you a chance to order the PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. So far, this seems to be a more effective method of trying for the PlayStation 5, but being in the queue doesn’t guarantee a console.

As for Amazon? In the US, Amazon likes to drop stock randomly and without warning. Thanks, I guess, Amazon.

Buy the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 for $50 at the Samsung Store and Amazon!

I expect a lot of things to go on sale for Black Friday, but one product I didn’t expect to go on sale was the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2. This basic fitness smartwatch was already one of the most affordable on the market, coming in at just $60 MSRP. Even the most budget Fitbit doesn’t come in at that price! But, it’s currently on sale, and you can pick up this smartwatch in Scarlet or Black for $50.

You might be thinking that $10 off the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 isn’t exactly amazing, but let’s break it down a bit. This smartwatch was only recently released, so a sale of any sort on this smartwatch is surprising enough. On top of that, it was just $60, which already makes it one of the most affordable fitness watches on the market. Considering everything, Samsung really didn’t need to put the Galaxy Fit 2 on sale. But they did, so why not take advantage of this deal?

If you’re like me and just need a basic fitness watch to track workouts and stay motivated, then the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 is going to be perfect for you. This smartwatch tracks steps, as expected, but it also tracks workouts automatically, which is great if you forget to time yourself. It’s also water-resistant, so you can wear it to track swimming workouts and don’t have to worry about it if it starts raining on your run. You can even track your sleep patterns with the Galaxy Fit 2, if you wear it at night!

Of course, this is just a basic fitness watch, so other than notifications from your phone, you won’t get some of the bells and whistles more expensive smartwatches have. But if you don’t care about things like Google Pay or statistics that tell you how stressed you are, then this is the smartwatch for you.

This sale price is available at both the Samsung Store and Amazon. If you qualify for Samsung’s Discount program, you can save a little more! Both sites offer free shipping and have both colors in stock, so the final choice is up to you.

POCO X3 and Moto G9 Plus kernel sources are now available

Kernel source codes are a vital part of Android custom ROM or kernel development, as developers have to build on top of it. However, when it comes to releasing kernel source code in a timely manner, few Android device makers are currently doing so. We do have one notable example: the POCO X3. The global edition of this device, i.e. the POCO X3 NFC was launched back in September 7, with a commitment from the company to release its kernel source on launch day. Well, it didn’t happen.

General Public Licence v2, better known as GPLv2, mandates every Android smartphone manufacturer to publicly release the part of Linux kernel code that they have shipped on their smartphones. This is precisely where POCO has fallen short this time. Last week, we urged the company to publish the phone’s kernel source. Luckily for users of the POCO X3 looking forward to modding their devices, the kernel source code has finally been released for this device.

You can download the sources for the POCO X3 from the GitHub link below. It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi has combined the source code for the global model (code-name “surya”) and Indian variant (internally referred to as “karna”), and it can be accessed via the same link.

On another note, Motorola has also refreshed its Github repo by publishing the kernel sources for the Moto G9 Plus (code-name “odessa”). The phone features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G chip, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and a quad-camera setup with a primary 64MP sensor. On the software side, the Moto G9 Plus runs a close-to-stock version of Android 10 out of the box.

If you’re a developer who has looked forward to this release for a while, check it out at Motorola’s official GitHub repository. As for users, keep an eye out on the forums for exciting projects that will surely arise for your device.
