[Q] Unlock boot loader of rooted nexus 5

Hey hi there,

Even though it's the first time of me actually posting here, I've used your expertise a lot in the last years... (rooted Nexus 5, Oneplus One and Nexus 9 using your help).

Well, I've had a pickup on my nexus 5. My girlfriend (who uses it now) had told me that it had been rebooting a lot for no apparent reason. I had previously fixed this (because it had done that before) by wiping the dalvik cache and normal cache. However, this time it seemed to have stuck on wiping the cache, and in particular it was not able to mount the cache.

I read in this thread that TWRP has a bug that could be the reason of the whole problem. Therefor I wanted to flash CWMR onto it, as is the solution stated in the thread, but I had relocked my nexus 5 after rooting (using bootUnlocker). Anyway, bootunlocker is no longer installed and Android (4.4.4) seems to be unable to mount /data, neither is adb able to mount it to let me pull everything of the phone before performing a full wipe.

My question, how does bootUnlocker unlock the boot loader, and can i reproduce this without actually installing bootUnlocker (since thats not possible)...

EDIT: I have been able to do a backup of /data/data (by using dab pull), I will probably also be able to do a backup of /media etc.

So now my question has actually changed to 'how do i prevent this from happening again?'

Thanks in forward!
