Andy Rubin is Reportedly Looking to Start an Android Phone Company

The Information is reporting that Any Rubin, the “Father of Android”, is looking to create a new company that produces and manufactures Android smartphones. It’s unclear if he’s going to have an operating role, or if he’ll just be funding the company, but the company is said to be leveraging industry trends that are making it easier and faster to create and launch these devices.

Steve Ballmer Says Windows Smartphones Need to Run Android Apps

Steve Ballmer, ex-CEO of Microsoft, wasn’t too thrilled about some of the comments from Microsoft’s shareholder meeting. In one instance, he talked about how Nadella’s solution to getting applications for Windows smartphones just “won’t work”. Instead, he believes that these devices simply need to “run Android apps” because they’re lacking so many key applications that customers need on their smartphones.

Nexus Will Receive an OTA Update Next Week that Includes New Emojis

With the latest Emoji update to Unicode, Android has been 2 versions behind and it didn’t seem like things were changing. After Google saw there was some demand for the update, we were told that Android would get the new Emojis. Things have been quiet since that announcement, but now we are told to expect a new update with Emojis for Nexus devices next week.
