Developers Tease AOSP Marshmallow for the Galaxy S4

ROM developers are usually pretty quick to port the latest Android version for the devices they maintain. XDA recognized developer AntaresOne and the JDCTeam have managed to port Android Marshmallow based on AOSP source to the S4. However, there are some issues that need to be ironed out. Still,  it’s definitely worth keeping your eye on if you’re looking to taste some sweet Marshmallow on your Galaxy S4.

Google Publishes Android 6.0 Factory Images for the Nexus 6P

If you head on over to the Google Developers’ Nexus page, you’ll notice a new addition to the family. You can download the factory images of Android 6.0 Marshmallow (build MDA89D and MDB08K) for the Nexus 6P right now. This won’t be useful until you get the device in your hand, but it’s nice to see the images up now instead of later.

Proof of Concept Demo Shows Simulated Force Touch Capabilities on Android

An interesting video is going around that shows a way to get Force Touch-like functionality on Android using the device’s barometer. So in a smartphone that is sealed (like Sony’s Xperia flagship series), this pressure is increased when force is applied. In the video we can see the sheep increasing in size the harder Marco Chiappetta presses on the screen. The GitHub project can be found here.
