Google Expands Local Guides Program

The official Google Maps blog has posted an update to its Local Guides program further integrating it into Google Maps. For anyone traveling to a new area, it can be helpful to see what places other people have marked as areas of interest. Google incentivizes participation in the program by awarding anyone who contributes with points that can be used for early access to new products, more Drive storage, and more.

Huawei Demonstrates Next-Gen Charging, Powers 3,000mAh Battery to 48% in 5 Minutes

In two separate videos, Huawei demonstrated their next generation quick charge technology on two different sized batteries. The first demo shows a 600mAh capacity battery, which we assume would be used in a wearable, charging from zero to 68% in 2 minutes flat. The second demo shows a 3,000mAh capacity battery charging from zero to 48% in only 5 minutes.
