At XDA there are a few things we place a strong emphasis on: 1) Open Source, 2) Privacy, and 3) Security. FreedomBox is a project/tool which looks to meet all three and such a tool could come in handy for those like Mathew who recently traveled to the Great Firewall. In light of the recent revelations of the failures of Juniper to protect customers, an open source tool like this could really come in handy and should be on your Holiday wish list.

OnePlus has just announced that the OnePlus 2 is receiving an OTA update to OxygenOS 2.2.0 right now. Highlights of this update includes a fix for dual SIM, Google Camera’s Photoshere & panorama bugs, NTFS and exFAT support for OTG, new features to change the color temperature from the Quick Settings panel, the ability to hide the search bar on the home screen, some security patches & general optimizations.

Meizu Reports 350% Sales Increase Year Over Year, Selling 20+ Million Smartphones in 2015

Like Huawei, Meizu has seen some impressive growth through the year and today’s announcement shows us exactly how much they’ve grown. The company has announced sales numbers for smartphones have surpassed 20 million this year. This puts them at a 350% increase in sales when looking year over year. Meizu is said to limit sales next year to 25 million so they can focus on quality control.
