PepsiCo to License its Name for an Android Smartphone in China

There’s been a flurry of rumors about a possible ‘Pepsi smartphone’ over the last couple of days. Reuters has reached out for a comment and they can confirm that PepsiCo has in fact licensed out their name for an upcoming smartphone. No details have been revealed as to who is going to manufacture the device but rumors suggest mid-range hardware at a $200 price point.

Samsung Releases the Game Tuner App to Customize Individual Game Settings

A new application has just been published by Samsung in the Google Play Store called Game Tuner. The application will list all of the installed mobiles games and then you can dive into each of them and set whether you want the graphics to be low, medium or high (which changes the resolution) and you can also set the FPS for that game as well.

Android 6.0’s Auto Backup Tested and the Results are Promising

Backing up application data on Android has been a pain for years but it looks like that is changing in Android 6.0. We’ve known about this new feature since Google I/O, but we didn’t know how it would perform for the end user. Ron from Ars did some testing recently and as long as the application targets Marshmallow’s level 23 API, it seems to work very well.

Sony Releases Android 6.0 Binaries for the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact

Sony has been very developer-friendly with their devices for a while and today’s release affirms that this isn’t going any anytime soon. The company just released the software binaries for Android 6.0 to work on the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact. Any developers looking to compile an AOSP build for these two devices can use these drivers to get things up and running.
