Qualcomm and Xiaomi Sign a 3G/4G Patent License Agreement

Qualcomm has just signed a patent agreement that would allow Xiaomi to use the company’s 3G and 4G technologies in future handsets. This enables Xiaomi to develop, manufacture and sell 3G (WCDMA and CDMA2000) and 4G, including 3-mode (LTE-TDD, TD-SCDMA and GSM), complete devices. It also eliminates the chance of litigation from Qualcomm, which is something they are already dealing with Ericsson in India.

Sony Updates the AOSP Binaries with Camera Fixes

Sony is still working to improve its AOSP program. A new zip archive with new binaries has been uploaded. Update brings camera enhancements to the Rhine and Shinano platforms, with front camera also now working on Yukon and Kitakami. HAL 3 and RAW mode support are working fine on these platforms too. Get the Android 5.1 binaries now!
