We’ve got some great news for cable cord cutters as Sling TV has announced that the latest update to their application finally brings support for Chromecast streaming. Along with this, if you prepay for 3 months of Sling TV service, then you get a 2nd generation Chromecast for free.

CM12.1 Begins Rolling Out to YU Yureka and Yureka Plus

Cyanogen Inc. has finally begun rolling out CyanogenMod 12.1 to owners of the Yu Yureka and Yureka Plus, after a considerable delay. The rollout was set to take place towards the end of August. However, thermal issues were cropping up in isolated cases, pushing back the release in lieu of finding and fixing the cause. The update also brings battery improvements, better data connectivity and improved memory optimizations.

Microsoft Downgrades All OneDrive Storage Plans

Microsoft has announced that it will end all unlimited storage options on OneDrive, along with downgrading the data caps and revising paid options. This move comes after some users made full use of the unlimited storage, uploading more than 75TB in some cases. Office 365 users unhappy with these changes can request for refund.

Google No Longer Has Plans to Open a Retail Store in New York

Google spent $6 million renovating a 5,442-square-foot spot in SoHo New York. It was reported that the Mountain View tech giant had plans to sell products like Chromebooks and various Android devices at this location but it seems like plans have changed. Google is now trying to sublease this spot for $2.25 million per year, which is said to be in line with others in that area.

Yesterday, Google announced the November edition of Android’s security update and now the factory images are out. 2013 LTE & WiFi Nexus 7 users have build MRA58V, Nexus 6 has build LMY48X, Nexus Player has build MRA58N, Nexus 5 and Nexus 9 has build MRA58N and the Nexus 5X along with the Nexus 6P have build MDB08M. OTA updates are expected to roll out soon.

Activision Just Acquired Candy Crush Developer King Digital for $5.9 Billion

Candy Crush revenues might be seeing a decline since 2014, but it is still continues to be a very popular game today. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick says the acquisition now solidifies Activision’s position as the “largest, most profitable standalone company in interactive entertainment”. The deal still has to be approved in Ireland though, and a final agreement is expected in Spring 2016.
