Samsung has launched the second-Tizen OS based device, the Z3. The device sports a 5″ HD display, a Spreadtrum 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The phone also has a 8MP rear and 5MP front camera, along with a 2,600 mAh battery. The Z3 runs on Tizen OS 2.4 and will be available exclusively on Snapdeal (India) for Rs. 8,490 ($130).
We need an unlocked bootloader in order to install custom ROMs onto a smartphone and this isn’t always an easy thing to achieve. ASUS has realized the importance of community developer support and have announced a bootloader unlock tool for the ZenFone 2. Proceed with caution though because unlocking the bootloader will void the warranty of your device.
Firing up the Hype train, OnePlus has began teasing the OnePlus X launch event. The Twitter post, in typical OnePlus fashion, contains a cryptic message of “PowerfullyBeautiful” with the X imagery. The event is scheduled for October 29, 2015 in London. We will report more news as and when they become available.
HTC sent out invites for their upcoming device launch close to two weeks ago and today we get a reminder of said event. The One A9 is all but confirmed to be announced and HTC will be unveiling it ‘virtually’. Everyone can watch the launch at HTC.com/launch on October 20th at 12 (noon) Eastern Time.
BLOCKS, the world’s first modular smartwatch has finally made its way onto Kickstarter. This is a project that has been in development for around 2 years and they seem to be ready to go into production. As of writing this, the campaign has 37 days to go and they’ve already surpassed the $250,000 goal they were looking for.
Google has just announced that the company has acquired Divshot, a platform to help developers build mobile and web apps. The old Divshot team will start focusing on making Firebase better and they suggest existing Divshot customers migrate their data over to Firebase because the Divshot servers will be shut down on December 14th.
Dave Burke, Google’s Android Engineering Vice President, was recently in Seoul, South Korea to talk about the upcoming Nexus devices. David told the press that Google engineers really like working with LG on Nexus devices and that they don’t see this partnership ending anytime soon.
