USB audio broken on lollipop?

D6603 here running stock unrooted Sony lollipop update. Every time I connect my USB DAC all I get is horrible static. One of the features I was looking for in lollipop is USB audio which works great on the nexus 6.

Anyone else have issues with USB audio?
