How to modify YouTube theme?

YouTube default theme is light. That hurts the eyes especially at night. Is there a way to change it to dark? I've tried to modify its Manifest.xml but the app crashes after the intro. Also noted that its default theme code is @style/Theme.YouTube.Light. I've heard there are only two types of colors offered - Holo and Holo.Light. Please give advice. Thanks.
