[Q] G Pad 8.3 LTE on T-Mobile (200 MB Plan)

I checked the forum if there were any threads that resolved my concerns. I could find none. I could find similar topic, but different problem. Still, apologies in advance if this is a repeat.

I bought a brand new Verizon-branded LG G Pad 8.3 LTE (VK810) that was advertised as unlocked. I love the tablet and have never had mobile data on tablet before (my other two tabs - iPad Air and Note 12.2 Pro are WiFi, so not familiar with mobile settings on android tablets especially). I am tempted to use the 200 MB free for life T-Mobile data (I am on AT&T mobile and the idea is to move to T-Mobile in the next year and use this tablet for travel). However, I have had no luck, whatsoever, to get on the 200 MB plan.

Here is what I did:

(a) Went to T-Mobile store and bought a SIM for my tablet. $15.

(b) Was able to see 4G LTE on top right of my tablet.

(c) Turned off WiFi and went to t-mobile(dot)com(slash)connectme

(d) The webpage loads fine (able to connect to network etc.) and problem begins when I try to create T-Mobile ID. I type in my email, password and 4-digit PIN and then am taken to an 'error' page with 8009378997 number.

(e) I tried calling customer care and after 20 minutes of kicking along, found no luck as one agent mentioned that VK810 is not eligible for the promotion.

Can anyone help me with this? Is this tablet eligible to get on the 200 MB plan? Did anyone here have luck with T-Mobile in this regard? Are APN settings related to this in any way (have no idea what APN is)? A bit disappointed that I cannot use my tablet in an optimal way and any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
