Hello there and in advance please forgive my ignorance.
I live in Greece and just bought an LG G3 s for a friend of mine. I opened it at home to enter his data (mail etc.) in order to give it to him ready to go, as he hasn't got a clue about tech and android generally.
I was surprised to see on the boot sequence Vodafone's image, although the sound is from LG's original opening sequence (i myself own an LG G2). The LG G3 s appears to be from Romania, LG D722v (v for Vodafone i guess) to be exact. I went on and set up the phone and after everything was in place i started searching a way to get rid of the Vodafone sequence. But i crashed into a wall of infinite info and no direct solution.
So here is my problem:
1. Can i get rid of the Vodafone opening sequence in an easy way? I do not wish to root, cause me and even worse my friend are ignorant about these sorts of things and may very well end up destroying the phone entirely.
2. Is it possible to flash a different LG stock rom in order to get rid of the Vodafone boot sequence or will that not clear my problem?
I searhed for the files in the folder many seem to designate as the appropriate for finding and deleting the VF files (root system/media/bootanimation.zip and shutdownanimation.zip), but instead all i find there are the proper LG startup sequences (i am OK with those). After a great big search i found a folder root cust/VDF_COM, but i cannot find any files that may be related to the opening sequence. Can you help me to locate those and accordingly deleting/replacing them with LG's own files? Even if root is needed (would appreciate to unroot the phone after that though).
Second solution i am thinking of: The phone's stock rom is D722v10b_00. Can i flash D72210b_00 or D72210d_00 or D72210e_00 instead (versions d and e are used by the other 2 carriers in Romania and in many other countries including UK, but i have not found a version for a Greek provider)? Will this delete VF's opening act? Or will this destroy the telephone? I can manage to go in download mode, but i do not know how to load another rom on the phone.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give to me and my friend
